About Our Strong Community Campaign

For more than 150 years, the Y has delivered lasting personal and social change to children, adults and families in neighborhoods across St. Louis area. The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

We count on the generosity of our members and partners who give to our Strong Community Campaign to welcome all who need a healthy, connected and secure place to go.

The Y gave $2.38 million back to our communities in direct financial assistance in 2011, including $1.28 million in membership assistance to 5,240 member households.

As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charity, the YMCA has provided millions of dollars in assistance over the years. We can only do that with your help. Please make your tax deductible gift today!

2011 Strong Family

The Ortons

The Orton Family, Amie, Devin and their children Cache and Naomi, came to the O’Fallon Family YMCA while Devin was attending graduate school. Due to a full class schedule and two young children they could not afford monthly membership fees, but because of the Strong Community Campaign were able to join the Y. Membership at the Y meant that as a family they could engage in a community that mirrors their beliefs and values a strong spirit, mind and body.  During the past two years, their son Cache has flourished in swim lessons and youth sports programs while Naomi, just over 1 year old, has benefited tremendously from the value-driven childcare available in our Childwatch area. Quality childcare means alot to the Ortons as Amie and Devin place a great amount of importance on physical health. They regularly attend our Group Exercise classes - Zumba, Piloga, and Cycling and Devin was able volunteer coach for Cache’s Little Kickers Soccer team at the Y. Amie and Devin appreciate the wholesome family atmosphere and the  Y’s programming planned with the whole family in mind.

Please consider a donation today to the 2011 Strong Community Campaign so together we can strengthen the foundations of our community.
