Membership Policies
Your Membership Card
Your membership card is your key to the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. Present your YMCA membership card every time you visit your Y. Full and Metro members age 13 and up will be issued permanent membership cards. Memberships and cards are non-transferable.
You may also use your membership card to create your account in online registration, where you can register for classes and programs. Click here to access online registration.
Expected Behavior
The YMCA is an inclusive, family-friendly organization. We expect all our members and guests to model our Core Values—Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility—in their conduct and language. The YMCA has the right to terminate a membership at our discretion if actions or behaviors are not deemed in the best interests of the organization.
Bringing Guests
As a full member of the YMCA, you may bring in unlimited guests with you to experience our facility. Guests may visit with you twice before joining. A photo ID is required for guests 13 and older.
Physical Readiness
Before starting any exercise program, please check with your primary care physician. If you are age 13 or older, you may ask our fitness staff for a Health and Wellness Consultation to help you determine what level of workout is right for you. Talk with our fitness center staff to get recommendations on our cardiovascular machines, free weights and circuit training machines.
Member Input
We value your suggestions for improving our YMCA. If you have a comment or suggestion, please pass it along to any member of our staff, fill out a member comment card and drop it in one of the suggestion boxes located throughout our YMCA, or contact us by e-mail or phone.
Services for People With Disabilities
The YMCA of Greater St. Louis serves people of all abilities. Through our Inclusion Services Department, we provide reasonable accommodations to enable all people to participate in our programs and classes. Click here for more information.
Ready, Set, Go!
Ready to go? As a new member, you can also take advantage of our “no wait enrollment”program—get right into a class at a pro-rated fee when you join (available for most classes).
YMCA Code of Conduct
In keeping with the Christian values of the Young Men's Christian Association, the Jefferson County Family YMCA requests all participants to behave in a manner fitting a value rich environment.
Participants who:
* Use inappropriate language,
* Fight
* Have unauthorized guests,
* Show disrespect to staff or fellow members
will be asked to leave the facility.
Any person asked to leave the facility for breaking the code of conduct will not be permitted back into the YMCA until they or their parents have met personally with the executive director.
Sexual Offender Background Check Policy
The mission of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Important to this effort is our ability to provide a safe and threat-free environment. For this reason the YMCA monitors the sexual offender registry. Persons on the list will not be eligible for YMCA membership, program participation, volunteer or employment opportunities with the YMCA of Greater St. Louis.
Lockers
Store personal items in the locker room. Each member or guest should provide a lock when using a locker. Please remove locks when you leave the facility. Locks left on overnight will be removed and contents taken to the service center. Lost & found items are discarded weekly. Locks are available for purchase at the service center. Some lockers are available for rent. For information on locker rentals, email Debbie.
