Aquatics
Y branches across the Greater St. Louis area offer a variety of aquatics programs that include infant-parent classes, preschool classes, classes for people with disabilities and classes for teens and adults.
These include water exercise classes and water sports, including synchronized swimming and even SCUBA. Competitive programs are also available for youth and adults through Masters programs Courses for lifeguard certification are also available at many of our Ys.
Most Y fitness facilities, including the
Edward Jones,
Kirkwood,
Mid-County and
Webster Groves branches, offer preschool, youth and adult lessons. Parent/child classes begin at six months and group swim lessons are available for ages 3 through adult.
The branches also offer private lessons for ages 4 through adult. Receive five 30-minute lessons per session. Semi-private lessons are also available for ages 4 through adult. Two participants receive five 30-minute lessons per session. Both participants must be full members.
Water Fitness classes are a great way to exercise in a group setting, and are FREE for
O’Fallon Y members. Choose from classes such as Aqua Boot Camp, Super Aquacise, Deep Water Conditioning, or Fit with Fins to give your joints a rest and get healthy in the water.
The
Carondelet Park Rec Complex is offering home-schooled children an opportunity to participate in Y aquatics programs. Participants will learn basic water skills, stroke technique and form. The program is divided in shallow and deep water swimming and is for ages 5 and up.
