Branch Policies
Facility Regulations
Please observe the policies and rules posted in each area of our facility. Our program directors, Health & Wellness staff and lifeguards are on duty to ensure your safety. Please respect them and understand their responsibilities.
Holidays
The YMCA is closed on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. The Mid-County YMCA has limited hours on MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Facility Maintenance Closings
Major maintenance in our facilities requires that we close certain areas for up to two weeks each year, during which time members may continue to use other areas of the facility or another branch of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. Signs will be posted in advance.
Workout Attire
Shorts and a shirt are appropriate in most areas of our facility. Street shoes are not allowed on wood floors or pool deck. Proper swimsuits are required.
Emergency Procedures
Your safety and good health are our foremost concerns. Should an accident, injury or unusual incident occur while you are at our facility, contact a staff member immediately.
Supervision of Children
To ensure safety, children under the age of 13 should be directly supervised by a parent or guardian in all areas of the facility. Children 5 and under must have an adult in the pool with them. Children age 6-7 must have an adult in the pool area. Children age 8-13 must have an adult in the building, even if the child is enrolled in a class.
Lockers
Use the appropriate locker room for age and gender. Each member or guest should provide his or her own padlock for daily use lockers. Please remove locks when you leave the facility. Locks left on overnight will be removed and contents taken to the service center unless you rent your locker for a monthly fee.
Weather Policy
Mid-County Y classes will be Cancelled when St. mary Magdalen School calls snow days or early dismissals for inclement weather. Should this occur in the morning, a YMCA re-evaluation will be made at 2 p.m. for classes and programs held in the afternoons and evenings. YMCA facilities:the pool, fitness center and gymnasium typically remain open even when classes and programs are canceled. Some facility areas may be closed, even when the general facility is open. For sports and gymnastics programs, the coach makes the call and notifies participants.
