NOW HIRING LIFEGUARDS
We are looking for lifeguards 16 years and older for the indoor and outdoor pools at the Carondelet Park Rec Complex. Please attend the open Swim Test and Interview events below.
Swim & Interview Dates:
Every Saturday at 12:15pm at the Carondelet Park Rec Complex February, March and April.

2013 Lifeguard Swim Tests
Our swim test evaluations are held each Saturday at 12:15pm through the month of February & March.
The evaluation tests the following skills.
-
100 Front Crawl, face in water
-
Tread Water for 2 minutes
-
50 Front Crawl, face out
-
50 Side Stroke
-
50 Bread Stroke, face in
-
50 Breast Stroke, head out
-
50 Elementary Back Stroke (hands on chest)
-
Feet first surface dive then swim under water 15 feet
-
Front Crawl Sprint, arm-over-arm surface dive, grab dive ring, tread 1 minute legs only, replace object, then swim to edge and hoist yourself out
Application Process:
1. Successfully complete Pre-requisite Swim (above, Saturdays at 12:15 pm).
2. Complete an application.
3. Complete initial interview.
4. Pass CPR/AED/O2, First Aid and Lifeguard courses
within given time frame.
6. Complete follow up interview.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are also a variety of volunteer positions available at the YMCA, including internships. These are unpaid positions yet provide valuable experience in leadership and organizational skills as you plan your career.
