St. Louis Rams "ReciPEs," an NFL program promoting healthy eating and physical fitness, visited the South City and Monsanto Family YMCAs in May and early June. All eyes are on wide receiver Austin Pettis as he prepares one of three healthy snacks. A fitness segment followed, where students participated in different physical activities with the Rams players. The NFL's "Play 60" message stresses to kids the importance of being active at least 60 minutes every day.

Inclement Weather Policy
The South City Family YMCA's goal is to remain open during all normal business hours. On the occasion of inclement weather, when safety becomes a factor for our members, guests and staff, we will modify our hours of operation or close the branch completely.
In the event of inclement weather, hours of operation will be available by phone (314) 644-3100, on our website (look in the news section or look for a bright red box in the top right corner of the homepage) and on our Facebook page at facebook/southcityfamilyymca.
Tell a Friend, Share the Y
Do you enjoy the Y? Then why not invite friends or family members to join? You'll feel good that you have motivated them to begin a healthier lifestyle and you’ll both receive a free month of Y membership!
Here’s how it works:
1. As a current Y member, you invite a friend to join by giving him or her a referral form.
2. Your friend brings the referral form when he or she joins.
3. If your friend joins, both of you receive a free month of membership! (See full rules here.)
At the Y, you’re a member of something special: the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We appreciate your continued support of the YMCA.

Come Grow with Us!
If you've visited us lately you may have noticed quite a few changes at the branch. We want to thank each of you for your patience during our growth spurt and look forward to sharing the new expanded facility with you this fall. More than 7,000 sq. feet of space will be added, including a dedicated yoga room, a member-requested cycling room and a large multi-purpose or community room. This addition will also make room for an expanded Fitness Center and the addition of a larger Child Watch area.
You will also see changes in the pool area with windows added to the east side (or deep end). During the pool's down time we were also able to complete the annual cleaning and comply with the VGB Safety Act.
Once again, we thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope that you and all of South City continue to grow with us!
Expanded Sunday Hours
May 23rd marked the beginning of our expanded Sunday hours test. For six weeks we will be opening the facility at 7:00 am on Sundays. So make the most of your weekend and get a head start on your workout.
