About Our Strong Community Campaign
For more than 150 years, the Y has delivered lasting personal and social change to children, adults and families in neighborhoods across St. Louis area. The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

We count on the generosity of our members and partners who give to our Strong Community Campaign to welcome all who need a healthy, connected and secure place to go.

The Y gave over $2.38 million back to our communities in direct financial assistance in 2011 to ensure Y programs are available for all.

As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charity, the YMCA has provided millions of dollars in assistance over the years. We can only do that with your help. Please make your tax deductible gift today!

Our Strong Community Family

While experiencing financial challenges as well as changes in her health, Tammy Boyd found Y membership, in her words, priceless! Being blessed with a Y financial scholarship has helped restore Tammy’s family back to a healthy and wholesome unit.

Not only does her family take advantage of a wide variety of community activities, sports and fitness classes; they have made new friends at the Y and spend more family time together. Beyond the obvious benefits of healthy living, Tammy says the “vibe and positive atmosphere alone at the Y soothes my spirit, motivating me week after week to achieve my wellness goals.”

ZUMBA classes have given Tammy more pep in her step and challenges her mentally and physically. None of this would be possible without the Strong Community Campaign.
