About Our Strong Community Campaign
For more than 150 years, the Y has delivered lasting personal and social change to children, adults and families in neighborhoods across St. Louis area. The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

We count on the generosity of our members and partners who give to our Strong Community Campaign to welcome all who need a healthy, connected and secure place to go.

The Y gave over $2.38 million back to our communities in direct financial assistance in 2011 to ensure Y programs are available for all.

As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charity, the YMCA has provided millions of dollars in assistance over the years. We can only do that with your help. Please make your tax deductible gift today!

Our Strong Community Family

Christian is a divorced father of two and a full-time nursing student. His weeknights with his children—Olivia and Harrison—are shared at the Y spending quality time together. The kids play in the Hub while dad works out. Afterwards, they meet for some wet ‘n wild fun in the pool!

Christian is a recipient of financial assistance from the Y and admits these priceless family encounters wouldn’t be possible without the Strong Community Campaign.

When he graduates from nursing school he fully intends to pay for a full Y membership. “I truly believe I couldn’t put a price on what I get back from being a member.”
