About the Minier Early Childhood Education Center

About the Minier Center

YMCA early childhood care builds on children’s natural desire to learn new things and become more self-reliant.  Getting along with other children, sharing, taking turns and working in a group are a natural part of playing games or learning a new craft.  Rest easy in knowing that Early Childhood Centers at the YMCA of Greater St. Louis are licensed by the State of Missouri and all child care staff members receive extensive training through the national YMCA as well as local Y.

The Y is an advocate for children and our voice is heard on the national, state and local level.  The YMCA of Greater St. Louis is involved with the National School-Age Child Care Alliance, National Association for the Education of Young Children, Missouri School-Age Child Care Community, the St. Louis Youth Provider Network, Child Day Care Association, St. Louis Partnership and United Way.

YMCA Early Childhood Education Center provides full day child care services that provide opportunities and experiences which stimulate a child's physical, social, intellectual, and emotional development. Programs are licensed and follow a constructivism philosophy with open-ended art activities, science, fine and gross motor skills and hands-on discovery in an enriching environment.

Why the Minier Early Childhood Education Center?

The Minier Early Childhood Education Center is a licensed and MOA Accredited program that provides a high quality program for a low, affordable cost. Our experienced, well-trained staff create engaging and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow and play. We follow the Project Construction Curriculum in our learn through play environment children are allowed to develop and express themselves. The staff compile portfolios of the children's progress and milestones throughout the center to ensure your child is developing physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally. Weekly lesson plans are developed and implemented by the staff.

Additional enhancements, such as swimming, dance, creative movement, gymnastics, and Spanish are offered on a weekly basis.

The ECEC coordinates family events, activities and provides numerous resources to build strong family relationships. Communication is an essential part in building and maintaining the relationship between the Minier ECEC and it's families.

YMCA Membership

A Full Family Membership YMCA is included in the cost of tuition so that all our families can enjoy all the programming offered by the MId-County Family YMCA.  Additionally, the Child Watch program at the Y provides a short term care service that offers opportunities and experiences which stimulate social development while family members participate in programs and activities at the YMCA facility.  Check out our Child Watch Hours at the Mid-County Family YMCA.
