Y Weight Challenge: Winter 2013
Be our next "before" and "after" in this 12 week program. Average weight loss per person in this program is 20 pounds! When you join this friendly competition you lose weight with your team and get fit by exercising with a personal trainer three times a week for 12 weeks. They will assist you to develop realistic goals, make healthy lifestyle changes and use weight management techniques to improve your overall health and wellness.
This 12-week program that helps clients to lose weight, tone and build muscles, learn about nutrition, and lead an overall healthier lifestyle.
Meet with one of our personal trainers in a small group setting (minimum 4, maximum 6 participants) three times a week for an hour long workout session. Participants will receive individual instruction from the personal trainer and will also benefit from the team camaraderie of small group training.
Participants will meet with their trainer 3 times a week. We will try to accommodate everyone as much as possible with different meeting times through out the day.
Workouts will take place in the YMCA in the weight room, cardio room, and gymnasium. When the weather gets nicer we may even go outside.
The Y-Weight Loss Challenge combines the best of Personal Training with the best of Group Fitness at an affordable price. Get the one on one instruction you get from a personal trainer with the camaraderie of a group fitness class and watch yourself attain your health and wellness goals.

Running Technique Class
Want to run faster and not get injured? The Pose Method of Running has been scientifically proven to reduce injury. You’ll get faster with consistent uninterrupted training simply by changing to this approach and improving their running efficiency and economy.
Instructor, Jennifer Meyer has attended many relevant training/coaching seminars and pursued certifications as a USAT Level II Triathlon Coach and as a Pose Method of Running Level II and a Pose Method of Triathlon coach. A main emphasis of her coaching is to help athletes to improve their technique in swimming, biking and running. Better technique leads to less injury and improved performance.

What's Hot at the Edward Jones Family YMCA?
Youth Strength Training
Ages 12 - 14. A YMCA coach will teach young people the proper way to strength train. Classes meet in the personal fitness center. Graduates (ages 13 and up) from this class may use the fitness center when accompanied by parent or guardian.
An energetic, instructor-led, vigorous cycling class designed to challenge you with a high-intensity cardio workout. These classes are available for those just getting started through the experienced cycler. Now FREE to members! Register at the Service Center today!
Dance your way to a fitter you with exciting and unique Latin moves and rhythms. Zumba is a total body workout with lots of core body emphasis that is intense but so much FUN that you forget just how hard you are working!
