UNLOCK THE POWER OF LITERACY

The Four Rivers Family YMCA Community Literacy Council offers tutoring services to adults. It is our goal to have a community in which all adults are functionally literate so they are able to reach their potential and contribute fully to their families and workplace.

This free service offers one to one tutoring. Tutors and reading students meet once a week at the Y or public library. Volunteer tutors have been trained to teach adults who would like to improve their reading skills.

Reading goals would include, but are not limited to:

-Continuing education, possibly GED
-Improving job performance/promotion opportunities

-Learning new life skills

-Reading to children

-Reading for personal fulfillment

-Extending knowledge of English
