About Our Preschool

The South County Family YMCA offers a preschool program for ages 3 through 5 that offers fun, socialization and developmentally appropriate experiences.  Best of all, our child care programs and activities are based on caring, honesty, respect, responsibility & faith. Program runs from 9:00am to Noon Monday through Friday.  We offer 3, 4 or 5 day options.

NEW THIS YEAR:  We we are including FREE SWIM LESSONS & GYMNASTICS CLASSES with our Preschool Program.  (Each child will be tested during Preschool and placed in the appropriate swimming and gymnastics class level.)

Meet Miss Katie Sarniguet, Lead Preschool Teacher

Katie Sarniguet has over 20 years experience in early childhood education and has been the lead teacher at the South County YMCA for the last 12 years. Katie and her husband of 39 years have 4 grown children and 3 granddaughters. She enjoys gardening, bird watching, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Meet Miss Melody Kahlo, Preschool Teacher

My name is Melody Kahlo. I have worked for the South County YMCA since 1995 and have worked as a Preschool Instructor since 2006. I've been around children most of my life and really enjoy helping them learn. I hope I can make a small difference in their lives and give them an extra boost to get them started with a better educational experience.
