The Y gave $2.38 million back to our communities in direct financial assistance in 2011, including $1.28 million in membership assistance to 5,240 member households.

As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charity, the YMCA has provided millions of dollars in assistance over the years. We can only do that with your help. Please make your tax deductible gift today!

2013 Strong Community Campaign Family

 By Samantha Irvin

The Strong Community Campaign has been a great benefit to me and my family. My children, Jemma (2 ½) and Cameron (17 months) have been enrolled at the St. Charles County Family YMCA Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) over a year and a half. I was a single mom working full time and going to school full time. I was fully capable of supporting my family on my income alone.

When I lost my job in November 2011 I had to find a way to keep my kids in the ECEC. It was important to me for my children to keep their routine and continue learning in a safe and caring environment so that I could focus on school as well as find a new job. Julie and Theresa at the ECEC informed me of the scholarship program. I applied and was approved. The financial assistance program at the Y helped me be able to afford to keep the kids in the program and find a new job.

In March 2012, Julie approached me about positions opening within the Y and at the ECEC. As of April 2012 I am now a YMCA ECEC employee and I look forward to donating to the Strong Community Campaign to give back to a program that helped me in my time of need. Financial assistance from the Y was really a big help to me and my family.

2012 Strong Community Family

Amy & Zoey

Amy is a single mother to four-year-old Zoey and full time college student.  Struggling to make ends meet but looking for constructive outlets for Zoey, Amy found assistance at the St. Charles County Family YMCA.  The Y informed her she is eligible to receive financial assistance from funds raised through the Y's Strong Community Campaign.  As a result, Zoey was able to take dance at the Y, while allowing Amy to take care of herself by getting more exercise.  "It is a big relief knowing my daughter is getting opportunities I could not give her", says Amy.  "The Y helps me give Zoey the skills to become a well-rounded individual and offers many different activities for children of all ages.  Parents want their children to learn independence, confidence, and how to work through their feelings in a positive way.  Zoey gets all these things and so much more at the St. Charles County Family YMCA."

Please consider a donation today to the 2012 Strong Community Campaign so together we can strengthen the foundations of our community.
