Branch Policies
Weather Policy
Wildwood Y programs and classes will be called off when Rockwood School District calls snow days or early dismissals for inclement weather. Should this occur in the morning, a YMCA re-evaluation will be made at 2 p.m. for classes and programs held in the afternoons and evenings, and on the morning of the next day if applicable. YMCA facilities like the pool, fitness center and gymnasium typically remain open even when classes and programs are canceled. Some services or areas may be limited or unavailable. Please call us at 458-6636 to check status.
Ready to visit the YMCA? Here are a few things you need to know about our branch. For a list of policies regarding Membership, please click here.
Your Membership Card
Your membership card is your key to the facility. Present your membership card every time you visit us. Full and Metro members age 13 and up will be issued permanent membership cards with photos. Memberships and cards are non-transferable. We will ask class participants who are not members to show their program activity card.
Visitors must show a photo ID. A member card replacement fee may be charged for lost cards. Children under 13 years must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the Y. The Y has the right to terminate a membership and/or release from program participation at our discretion if actions or behaviors are not deemed in the Y’s best interest.
Expected Behavior
The YMCA is an inclusive, family-friendly organization. We expect all our members and guests to model our four values—caring, honesty, respect, responsibility—in their conduct and language. The YMCA has the right to terminate a membership at our discretion if actions or behaviors are not deemed in the best interests of the organization.
Bringing Guests
As a Full member of the YMCA, you may bring in unlimited guests with you to try our facility. Guests may visit twice before joining. Photo ID required for guests age 13 and older.
Physical Readiness
Before starting any exercise program, please check with your doctor. If you are age 13 or older, you may ask our fitness staff for a physical readiness questionnaire to help you determine your level of work out.
Health & Wellness Consultation
Please schedule your complimentary wellness consultation as soon as possible by contacting the service center. One of our Wellness staff members will meet with you to discuss your goals and help you get started on the path to achieve them.
Facility Regulations
Please observe the policies and rules posted in each area of our facility. Our program directors, Health & Wellness staff and lifeguards are on duty to ensure your safety. Please respect them and understand their responsibilities.
Holidays
The YMCA is closed on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. Upcoming holiday hours are listed under our Hours Page. Holiday hours change by branch so check with the Service Center at 636.458.6636 for holiday hours.
Facility Maintenance Closings
Major maintenance in our facilities requires that we close certain areas for up to two weeks each year, during which time members may continue to use other areas of the facility or another branch of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. Members will be notified in advance.
Workout Attire
Shorts and a shirt or a leotard are appropriate in most areas of our facility. Street shoes are not allowed on wood floors. Proper swimsuits are required.
Member Input
We value your suggestions for improving our facility. If you have a comment or suggestion, please pass it along to any member of our staff, fill out a member comment card and drop it in the suggestion box, or visit the Contact Us page. We will respond to comments/ suggestions that include name, address and phone number or e-mail address.

Program Cancellations & Refunds
Our credit/refund policy allows quality programs and proper class ratios. We reserve the right to cancel/combine classes for insufficient enrollment or conditions beyond our control. If we must cancel, you will be given a full refund or credit. You can apply credits to any Y program. They are not redeemable for cash and are good for one year from issue date. No refunds or credits are given for join fees, gift certificates or memberships. To keep class fees as low as possible, we will not issue credits for missed classes or activities, even due to inclement weather. Makeups are not available for swim and gymnastics classes because of program design. Also note that only employees or approved representatives may provide any type of instruction or coaching. Failure to abide by policies may result in loss of privileges.
