This mainstay of YMCA programs gives young people fun, positive activities and caring adult attention. Children participating in Y Youth Sports learn about the importance of teamwork and building self-confidence. Adults who volunteer as coaches have a unique opportunity to work with children and assist in building character in the process.

About our Program

Your son or daughter is entering the most unique sports program offered in America. In fact, we’ve named the program YMCA Youth Super Sports because we’re confident it’s the best-designed sports program for young people available anywhere.  In YMCA Rookies, children ages 4 and 5 focus on learning the basics of the sport in a pre-competitive environment with the help of volunteer coaches and staff.  In YMCA Winners, children age 5 through grade 4 learn the tactics and skills of the game, rules of the sport, fitness concepts and character development.  Objectives are acheived along with competition with other players and teams.

Complete the youth sports registration form and return to the Y service center to enroll your child.

Volunteer Coaches

Volunteer coaches are needed for all of our youth sports programs.  If you are interested in coaching, please contact us

Inclement Weather Procedure

In inclement weather conditions, sports activities may be cancelled if necessary.  The following procedure is used for notifying participants of a cancellation:

Coaches are responsible for cancelling their own practices and notifying all the players.  YMCA staff will notify the coaches at least one hour before game time.  The YMCA reserves the right to cancel any practice or games if the safety of the participants is compromised.

If the YMCA Site Coordinator must cancel games after arriving at the site, teams scheduled to play will be notified as soon as possible.  We appreciate you understanding this situation.

Every effor will be made to make-up cancelled games and coaches will be notified of make-up dates as soon as possible.  Due to scheduling of the fields/gyms, make-up games are not guaranteed.
