About the Preschool

We are accepting registrations for the 2013 - 2014 school year.

Little Learners Preschool

YMCA Preschool offers fun, socialization and developmentally appropriate experiences for children ages three to five. Best of all, our child care programs and activities are based on caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

3 Year Old Program 

Member rate $100/month, Non-Member rate $200/month
Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00am-12:00pm
September through May

Our primary purpose of the three year old program is to encourage social and emotional development of each child. Learning is the natural consequence of this development. We teach independence and self-confidence. The children will experience the alphabet, colors, shapes, numbers, science, use of scissors, name recognition, fine arts and fine and gross motor skills.

4 Year Old Program 

Member rate $150/month, Non-Member rate $300/month
Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 9:00am-12:00pm
September through May

Our primary purpose of the four year old program is to encourage social and emotional development of each child. Learning is the natural consequence of this development. We teach independence and self-confidence. The children will experience the alphabet, colors, shapes, numbers, science, use of scissors, name recognition, fine arts and fine and gross motor skills.

Fast Track/Pre-K Program (4 year olds) 

Member rate $240/month, Non-Member rate $480/month 
Monday through Friday, 9:00am-12:00pm
September through May

This Fast Track Program is ideal for children that miss the Kindergarten cutoff. The class is designed for the preschooler with an acute attention span. The curriculum is more structured and the Letter People Program is introduced. Students are involved in math and reading readiness activities, and learn to print their first and last name. Introduction to Spanish, creative movement, creative art and field trips are an important part of this program.

We focus on the Kindergarten Readiness Skills. In addition, the children will experience counting, writing their name, learning their address and phone number, learning poems and songs, recognizing upper and lower case letters. Our students also benefit from designated physical education time in the gym, and swimming lessons in the pool.

Little Learners Preschool special events throughout the year include field trips to Daniel’s Farm, the Fire Station, visits from the Librarian. We also celebrate Dr. Suess’ birthday, St. Patrick’s Day Green Feast, Dad’s Day and Mother’s Day Tea. At the end of the year, we have a Graduation for the Four Year Olds and the Fast Track Class.
