This mainstay of YMCA programs for young people fills kids’ discretionary time with positive activities and caring adult attention. Children participating in Y Youth Sports learn about the importance of teamwork and building self-confidence.  Adults who volunteer as coaches have a unique opportunity to work with children and assist in building character in the process.

Registration: March 25 – May 20
Practices Begin: Week of June 3
Season Starts: June 15 (no games July 6)

Rookies

Fundamental clinics designed to teach your child the basics of the game in a fun environment. One class per week for 6 weeks. Ages 3-4 years.  All Rookies programming will take place at a local school.

Rookies Begin: Week of June 10

Program Fee: $99
Members Pay Only: $50 for first child, $25 for each additional child

Y-Winners

Non-competitive leagues designed to teach your child the fundamentals of the game through league play and practice.  Individual sign-ups.  One game per week for 7 weeks.

-Practices will take place at the YMCA or at a local school
-Games will take place at a local park or at a local YMCA game site
-Some travel may be required for certain leagues
 

 INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURE

In inclement weather conditions, sport activities may be cancelled if necessary. The following procedure is used for notifying participants of a cancellation:

1. YMCA staff will notify coaches at least one hour before game time. Coaches are responsible for canceling their own practice and notifying all players. The YMCA reserves the right to cancel any practice or games if the safety of the participants is compromised.
2. If Site Coordinator must cancel games after arriving at site, teams scheduled to play will be notified as soon as possible. We appreciate you understanding this situation.
3. Every effort will be made to make-up cancelled games and coaches will be notified of make-up dates as soon as possible. Due to scheduling of the fields/gyms, make-up games are not guaranteed.
