Active Older Adults
The YMCA of Greater St. Louis has assembled a fabulous collection of classes and events with emphasis on satisfying older adults’ interests, meeting their needs and using their abilities. There’s no such thing as “old school” at the Y where there’s a program to meet your needs and your schedule.
Group Fitness and Water exercise
The Edward Jones Family YMCA offers a variety of group fitness and water exercise classes for our Active Older Adults. For more information, including class descriptions, along with days and times offered, click here!
Active Older Adults Potlucks
Typically held on the third Wednesday of each month at noon. Call the Y to confirm dates or contact Mike Grant with questions. Sign up at the service center to bring a dish to share! The potluck is free for those who provide a dish or dessert. Others are welcome to attend for $5 per person.
Bridge Club
Our bridge Club meets every Thursday from 1:30-3:30pm in the Multipurpose Room. The club is led by YMCA member, Ed Wang. Bridge club is open to all.
Fee: $1 per week; FREE for full members
Cookie Club
Our Cookie Club meets every Friday morning at 9:30am in the Edward Jones Family YMCA lobby. After your workout, enjoy a cookie, have some fun socializing and make some great new friends!
Silver Sneakers
The Edward Jones Family YMCA is now partnering with Healthways "SilverSneakers Fitness Program." This program, provided through select supplemental insurance companies, offers:
- Free basic YMCA membership
- Custom-designed SilverSneakers classes taught by certified instructors

Prime Life Programs
Adult Enrichment Adventures (AEA) and Elderhostels provide adults with an affordable all-inclusive opportunity to travel and meet other lifelong learners. Whether traveling alone, as a couple or in a group, everyone will find something of interest at YMCA Trout Lodge. The per person package includes lodging, all meals, classes, snacks and entertainment.
