Learning Lab

 Overview

The Learning Labs provide small group instruction for students who need help improving their reading or math skills.  Learning Labs are located at the Emerson Family YMCA, the Monsanto Family YMCA and the Literacy Council.  We also have a Learning Lab at Cool Valley Elementary School sponsored by Express Scripts.  Participation in the Learning Lab at Cool Valley is restricted to upper elementary students attending that school.

Students enrolled in the Learning Labs attend regularly scheduled sessions twice a week during afterschool hours. 

Enrolling a Student

Parents who are interested in enrolling their child in the Learning Labs program should contact Lucia at 314-776-7102. To be eligible for tutoring students should be performing below grade level expectations in reading or math.

Becoming a Tutor

Volunteer tutors assist the classroom teachers in our Learning Labs.  If you are interested in helping a student improve her reading or math skills, contact Lucia at 314-776-7102 or lluan@ymcastlouis.org.
