Family Rec Swim Times
The pool schedule with rec swim times and minimum lap lanes is available online or at the West County Family YMCA.
National YMCA Aquatics programs are designed to teach personal water safety, stroke development, water sports & games, rescue and personal growth skills to children. Our program is divided by age and by skill levels. Advancing to the next level is dependent on the child's completion of required skills. Children learn at their own pace. Session length does not guarantee that all children will advance to the next level. All instructors are trained to work with children. A minimum number of students must be registered for the class to take place. Early registration is encouraged.
Has it been a while since your child swam with us? Learn your child's current level. Call the aquatic department for an appointment.

Pool Usage Policies
Please shower before entering pool. No street shoes on deck. No food, drink or glass containers allowed on deck. No running, pushing or rough play. Breath holding activities are prohibited except during supervised instruction. No diving from the deck or the starting blocks. (Blocks are for swim team only.) No spitting in pool/gutters. All lap swimmers, children and adults, must be able to swim two lengths of the pool without stopping. Children under 8 must be within arms length in the water at all times. Floatation devices may be used at the lefeguard's discretion. One mile is equal to 64 lengths, 32 laps. Lifeguard has final authority.
Missed or Canceled Classes
To insure proper swimmer-to-instructor ratios for every class, we are unable to permit make-ups. To keep our class fees as low as possible, we will not be able to issue credits or make-ups for missed classes, even if they occur as a result of inclement weather including storm lightning. The storm policy is to close the pool when lightning is over head and for 30 minutes from the last lightning strike.
