Teen Hub
Our interactive Teen Hub is a supervised space that is perfect for teens. From Wii Fit to Dance Dance Revolution and an interactive sport wall and climbing rock wall, there is plenty to keep youth active and engaged. The Teen Hub also hosts board games, foosball, ping-pong, music, computers, a library and exergaming stations.
Besides free play, the Carondelet Park Rec Complex also offers youth fitness classes that often meet in the Teen Hub! Junior Bootcamp provides cardio and strength training in a fun bootcamp style to get fit. Family Fit involves interval training for those kids who want a “real” workout. It includes cardio, strength, & flexibility segments. Finally, Exergaming is a circuit training exercise class using Sportwall, Trazer, Dance Dance Revolution, Game Bikes, treadwall and Nintendo Wii!
Youth Group
The Carondelet Park Rec Plex hosts a Youth Group every Friday evening for 9-16 year olds to keep kids active and engaged on the weekend! Youth Group visits the Teen Hub, the gymnasium and the indoor pool for a fun social experience. Health forms and parental permission required prior to attendance and must be returned to the Rec Complex by parent. There will be no youth group on April 22nd, May 27th, and July 1st.
YMCA Teen Leaders
Our YMCA Teen Leaders program meets every Thursday at 7pm. Our teens learn to discover leadership skills through planning community service projects and volunteering at the Rec Complex and other organizations. Leaders are divided into Junior Leaders and Teen Leaders based on grade level.
City Youth and Government
Youth in Government offers students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and experience democracy. Students prepare their local delegations for the model government conference.
