Branch Policies
Your Membership Card
Your membership card is your key to the facility. Present your membership card every time you visit us. Full and Metro members ages 13 and up will be issued permanent membership cards with photos. Memberships and cards are non-transferable. Lost membership cards can be replaced at a fee of $5.00.
Expected Behavior
The YMCA is an inclusive, family-friendly organization. We expect all our members and guests to model our four values—caring, honesty, respect, responsibility—in their conduct and language. The YMCA has the right to terminate a membership at our discretion if actions or behaviors are not deemed in the best interests of the organization.
TAKE NOTE
Before starting any exercise program, please check with your doctor. The Fitness Center is for member 13 years of age and older. All new members are recommended to attend a fitness center consultation.
Bringing Guests
As a Full member of the YMCA, you may bring in unlimited guests with you to try our facility. Guests may visit twice before joining. Photo ID required for guests over age 16.
Holidays
The YMCA is closed on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day, with limited hours on other major holidays. Holidays change by branch so check with your Service Center for holiday hours.
Facility Maintenance Closings
Major maintenance in our facilities requires that we close certain areas for up to two weeks each year, during which time members may continue to use other areas of the facility or another branch of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. Signs will be posted in advance.
Workout Attire
Please wear appropriate work-out apparel. Tennis shoes are required to exercise in the fitness center (open-toe or open-heel shoes prohibited for safety). Street and black-soled shoes are not allowed on wood floors. Proper swim suits are required.
Member Input
We value your suggestions for improving our facility. If you have a comment or suggestion, please pass it along to any member of our staff, or fill out a member comment card and drop it in the suggestion box or the Contact Us page. We will respond to comments/ suggestions that have name, address, phone number and/or email address.
Emergency Procedures
Your safety and good health are our foremost concerns. Should an accident, injury or unusual incident occur while you are at the YMCA, contact a staff member immediately. In the event of an incident or injury the YMCA policy requires an incident report be completed.
Supervision of Children
To ensure safety, children under the age of 13 should be directly supervised by a parent or guardian in all areas of the YMCA. Parents/Guardians may bring their child to Child Watch while they exercise within the YMCA facility.
Lockers
Use the appropriate locker room for age and gender. Each member or guest should provide his or her own padlock for daily use lockers. Please remove locks when you leave the facility. Locks left on overnight will be removed and contents taken to the service center unless you rent your locker. See the Service Center to inquire about locker rental.
